In 2007 the Ayrshire Foundation awarded a $300,000 grant to the hospital for use in their campaign to expand their Emergency and Trauma Center.
The Ayrshire Foundation’s generous support helped Huntington Hospital double the size of its Emergency & Trauma Center facility – the only designated trauma center in the San Gabriel Valley. As the region has grown, so too has the demand for emergency services, and thanks to our community’s support, this expanded, state-of-the-art facility enables us to provide lifesaving care for over 70,000 people each year.
In addition, The Ayrshire Foundation provided seed funding to launch Huntington Hospital’s award-winning Nurse Navigator program in the Huntington Cancer Center. The Foundation’s grant underwrote the creation of this new role of Nurse Navigator for Prostate Cancer, providing personalized care and support for patients – free of charge – as they navigate through the stresses and uncertainties of cancer treatment.
